Pre-op Diet Day 1: Let's do this!

I have officially started my 2 week pre-op diet and I'm pumped!

This post is a day late but last night was kinda rough!

Let me start out by saying that I am FULLY aware that I am lucky. Why?
Because I still get to eat some real food. This isn't a full liquid ONLY diet. I get 2 servings of fruit either mixed with my protein shakes or to the side so that rocks. I also get a grilled meat and a steamed veggie for dinner which rocks my socks clean off!

With that being said, I can still bitch a little right? I mean it is a pretty big diet change and soooo many things are off limits.

Here is what we are working with for day 1:

Breakfast
Again, LUCKY I get a serving of fruit
Took me about 2 1/2 hours to finish my shake...filling I guess

Lunch
I have a feeling this could get old quickly!
I also had a cup of chicken broth but didn't take a picture.
Took me another 2 1/2 hours to drink my shake.
Did anyone else have that problem?


Unfortunately I do not have a photo of dinner. By the time I got home I had a horrific headache and I was starving..only to find out we had to make a Wal-Mart venture BEFORE I could cook my dinner. So I drank a cup of broth before we left for wally world.  I had a grilled chicken breast and fresh green beans from the farmers market. YUMO! I love eating healthy food... Why is it so hard to eat healthy ALL the time? 

I must admit I did NOT drink 64 oz of water... it was more like 50 something... I will get better, I guess it's just hard to drink MORE liquid after drinking liquid...right after you drank liquid. 

So I must say, Day 1 was good! I'm sure this will probably get old pretty quick but I'm taking it one day at a time and today was pretty stupendous!

  1. hey good job I know it is hard for you and you can complain for sure it will be just as tough for you to make a change as it is for those of us who have liquid diets and we are all on the same path (to awesomeness).. so please bitch all you want lol I know I will be doing lots of it .I feel bad that I teased you about your damn grilled chicken I am not a bitch really I was JK-ing.. I dont love my protein shake either but I just chug it down to get it over fast, what are those shakes, are they like meal replacment shakes like real thick like slimfast? ......so f*ing excited for you woohoo on day #1 you are on your way girl!! cant wait to read more about your journey...

    1. Oh don't worry, I took no offense to your poking at me! I can take and give shit among the best! ;)
      They are shakes from GNC. They have it in powder form too, but I thought it would be easier to do the pre-made ones so I didn't have to take my magic bullet to work with me.

  2. Muscle Milk is much better protein shake. Its the only shake I can get down. High in protein, low n carbs, and sugar. -Ashlee

    1. I think I have a muscle milk to try. I like the GNC shakes, I think they are pretty tasty! NOT a fan of the vanilla but the chocolate is yummy! The strawberry is good, but not as good as the chocolate.

  3. I realized that if I used a straw I was able to chug it down a bit quicker... Nothing worse than a WARM protein shake... icky!

    Congrats on officially starting!

  4. The protein drinks do get old quickly, but it'll be worth it when you see the progress you're making on the scale! Also, I'd suggest trying some different types of fruit to keep yourself interested (if you haven't already)... it really makes all the difference.

    1. You know it's weird... The protein shakes seem to be getting better... is that weird? Maybe because I'm detoxed from the bad stuff? The chocolate tasted JUST like chocolate milk today! :) (oh and the progress on the scale is already awesome, 8.5 lbs since tuesday!)
