~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Man, has it really been a week since I blogged?!? I feel so out of the loop! I need to catch up... I'm feeling like bullets today...
  •  Last week was rough, I had a LOT of shoulder pain. Pretty sure it wasn't gas...my shoulder would seize up and cramp like every single move I made. Sitting down, standing up, sitting still, laying down, turning, breathing...farting! It.hurt.so.bad.
  • Use a heating pad they said.... It will make it feel so much better they said.... Well, my dumbass fell asleep with the heating pad on my effing shoulder!  Those mother heifers get hot...
Good thing my hubby woke me up in the middle of the night and told me to turn it off or else it probably would have been much worse.
  • My Dr. does the post op appointments over the phone now... SWEET! Saved me a 45 minute drive! She was really happy with my progress and moved me up to 3rd stage foods! WOOOHOOO! I can eat REAL food now!
  • I'm not really feeling any restriction so I've been tempted quite a few times to eat out of control. But i've kept it under control and I'm happy about that.
  • I'm having trouble reaching 1200 calories a day...anyone else have that problem?
  • I'm also having trouble getting all my water in....I'm trying though!
  • It's my first day back to work and i'm feeling good! My stomach muscles are super sore for some reason but i'm good. (I was dreading that 5am alarm though ugh! i've been sleepin till 10!)
  • Got me a new pair of tennis shoes...well technically running shoes as motivation to help me workout. My old ones were junk. I'm super excited they are BRIGHT blue and green. I'll post pics later.
  1. Glad to see your back congrats on the weight loss! I found that my shoulder hurt for the first few days but then stopped which was good, the biggest problem for me is the pain medication they gave me made me sick so I guess that over the counter meds will have to do. I went back to work 4 days after my op, hardest part for me is the extremely steep flight of stairs I have to take to get to my office :( but hey it counts as exercise.
    Glad to see your doing so well, look forward to hearing more from you hun!
    xx
    1. Gah! I'm soooooo glad the dr. put me off an entire week. I think I may have been more sore because of the hernia but I couldn't imagine going back to work after 4 days... I was still REALLLLLY sore 4 days later and was a turtle! I didn't turn a corner until about 6-7 days.
  4. I don't like that she did the post-op visit over the phone... especially with the shoulder pain you're talking about. Seems like laziness to me on her part. Were you given the option to come in? :/
    Next time I'd request an in-house appointment, surgeons being hands-on is SO important.
    That being said, congrats on your loss this week. Keep plugging along! Glad your hubby woke up and told you to turn off the heating pad. Yikes!
    1. The bad shoulder pain didn't actually start until the day after I had my phone appointment. It's gone now...thank goodness. It's optional, if I was having any sort of problems or felt uncomfortable I would have gone in. All my other appointments will be in house, it's just the 1 week appt they do over phone IF you are comfortable with it.
  7. My post op follow ups were all by phone. Given how I nearly threw up twice on the way back from the hospital I was really glad of this option. Keep some anti gas chews handy, those should pains can come upon you suddenly for weeks as it works out of your system.
  9. I am HUNGRY all the time for several weeks now. But I'm restraining myself by doing other things to keep my mind off food.
    My surgeon is an hour away but they said I could call with any type of questions, which I have called a couple of times and my dietitian allows me to Email her and she replies back. I go back on Aug 9th for my first fill and I hope he fills it up as I do not want to be taunted with hunger pangs either.
    Glad you're back blogging. Figured you were becoming like all the others who blog when the wind blows.
