Pre-op diet weekend summary

  • Pre-op diet day 3 Friday...

Nothing special...Protein shake for breakfast...same for lunch...cup of broth...cup of jello.
Dinner was a little different. We went to culvers... I ordered just a plain grilled chicken breast and green beans. I sat there and watched the rest of my family devour cheeseburgers dripping in grease. For a split moment I was drooling...then I took another bite of my chicken and was very proud of myself for staying strong. Although I must admit I do not think those green beans were diet friendly...they tasted WAY too good. Oh well.

CONFESSION: I can neither confirm nor deny the consuming of 1 pea sized bite of french fry and 1 pea sized bite of hamburger meat.

  • Pre-op diet day 4 Saturday..
Good day I must say... protein shake for breakfast, same for lunch. No broth...no jello. Then me and The Hubs get a wile hair up our asses and decide to go to Oceans of fun and get our swim on and then jont over to Worlds of Fun and get our ride on. What to eat? We decided to do Applebee's carside thingy... Grilled steak and veggie medley for me.. It was YUMO! Bacon burger and fries for The Hubs. You know I wasn't even jealous!
After we got our swim on we went to the car to change. The Hubs passed my season pass and my driver's license across the roof of the car. I had no pockets (I was wearing a moomoo swim dress!) so I left them there while I guarded the window so he could change in the car. After he was done I hopped in the car to change...pulled the towels off the windshield and took off for Worlds of Fun...Pull into the parking lot...
OH SHITBALLS!!! I'm about 99% positive I left my pass and I.D. on top of the car.
Back we go to Ocean's of Fun praying our little hearts out nobody swiped them or that they were even still in the parking lot. Thank goodness hubby has a photographic memory when it comes to driving and took the direct path we went and we found them...about 300 yards apart from one another but we found them none the less.
I know we should have taken that as a sign to just effin' leave and go home. But now, we decided to trek on and go ride some rides.
BIG MISTAKE! The night only got worse from there. Not only were we running around outside in 100+ heat in an amusement park, we both had headaches all day. Why in any kind of hell would we think riding roller coasters would be anecdotal to headaches?!? Nope, made em worse. Rode 3 rides and called it quits. As we are walking out the gates The Hubs reaches in his pocket for his bright shiny fancy schmancy smart phone..... GONE. Holy Shitballs we were frantic. We thought for sure someone either swiped it, or it was in the black abyss under one of the roller coasters. He checked lost and found, nothing. Left his name and phone number "just in case" they find something. We started asking around for phones from friends because with him not working we do NOT have the money to buy another phone. Needless to say the rest of the night we were not in real great moods.
My cell phone rang this morning around 10... It was Worlds of Fun... They found his frikken phone....and it was still in one piece and hadn't even died yet. I was floored, I honestly couldn't believe it! It was such a great thing to happen in a sea of shitty things happening. But hey, at least I got a bunch of exercise and sweated a couple-o-buckets eh?

  • Pre-op diet day 5 Sunday...
Not quite as good as yesterday but I think I'm still doing fabulous. Shake, Shake, everything like normal. Me and Cupcake (my bestie) decide to take the kiddos to go see Madagascar 3. I can say that I had 1 single kernal of popcorn and it was simply for tasting to make sure I didn't put too much of the flavor stuff on it for Kenzo. The movie was good BTW, even if my kid was being "the" little shit of the theatre.
Dinner was good. Rotisserie chicken breast, no skin and grilled zuchinni and yellow squash. Watermelon and cantaloupe for desert (my family rocks...made Sunday dinner ME friendly!)
CONFESSION: I took 1 bit of coleslaw my mom made with the cabbage from their garden... and I had a bite of cucumber they had in vinegar.. I think I'll survive.

I think even with my tiny confessions I'm doing awesome!!! The scale sure thinks so too, I've lost 11.3 lbs since I bought my scale on TUESDAY! That's redonkulous! :)

  9. new follower here :) I honestly think the pre-op diet was one of the most challenging things. I had one week of nothing but shakes. Hang in there!! Sounds like you're a couple of lucky people considering those events!
