TTT -- Pre-op diet edition

Ten Things Thursday courtesy of lovely Laura at Beer, Dogs, and Getting Healthier.
Since I haven't kep up on my pre-op diet updates I will use TTT to update! I think it works out swimmingly! :)

1. Pre-op diet day 6 was monday...BAAAHHHHRINNNGGG! Breakfast: shake ... Lunch: shake and chicken broth. Dinner...ah yes, dinner... delicious, wonderful, mouthwatering dinner. That grilled squash is my new fave!

2.Pre-op diet day 7 was tuesday...seriously do I even need to tell you about breakfast and lunch? The same shakes! But again dinner...

3.Pre-op day 8 was yesterday...July 4th. I have to tell you frikken proud of myself I am! I did not eat ANYTHING at our 4th of July bash at the in-laws! I drank my shake and carried on! I just sat and fed the baby while everyone ate and then we got in the pool for like 2 hours and I stayed in with my oldest while everyone had cake and ice-cream. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

4. Confession: when we got home on the 4th I had ONE bite of mac salad and ONE bite of beans with my grilled burger patty and steams carrots... and they were little bites...more like tastes...

5. I had my first "negative" moment with someone about my surgery. It was a co-worker. He said he was against the surgery. This was not completely negative as he is a funny guy and didn't draw it out. He just put his 2 cents in and left it at that. He didn't make me feel bad about and is still a friend. I didn't take it to heart and I told him that's ok, he doesn't have to understand it and he is welcome to his opinion. that was that...we moved on... I feel that he is just not educated about the surgery like most people... he made sure not to make me feel bad and even joked saying "just drink those shakes for the rest of your life!" He was just joking and we both laughed.

6.I'm drinking my lunch shake right now and I have to say these things really just taste like chocolate milk now! It's almost like a treat! :)

7. I bought my first bottle of Torani sugar free syrup on Tuesday and WOW, I am gonna like these! I got a 12.2 oz bottle of the classic caramel, it's DELICIOUS! I can't wait to start making some of the things on The World According to Eggface's blog! It's thanks to her that I bought it...now I think I will start a collection :)

8.My kids rock... really. The baby is just easy... happy all the time...does her own thing...sleeps everynight, all night. We are truly spoiled! Big sis is a CHARACTER...which can be extrememely exhausting and tests the limits of my patience but I LOVE her... to death. One moment I want to just scream she's being so defiant and ridiculous...then the next moment she is being so amazing I forgot why I was mad in the first place. Yesterday was no different. She made me want to pull my hair out a couple of times but I made sure to keep my cool because I knew it was out of PURE excitement and I didn't want to ruin her memory of the day by being on her and having her in trouble ALL day. So I let things slide..and let her have fun... and let her jump off the steps of the swimming pool into the water about 100 "last time's"  She melts my heart.. and everyone who knows her. (just watch out for her other side lol)

9.Pre-op diet day 9 is going smoothely today... workin' on my lunch shake right now. I will probably have rotisserie chicken and green beans for dinner. Just chugging along... Surgery is in a week!

10.I DO NOT want to work today.... it should be illegal to have July 4th on a weekday...then have to wake up at 5:15 for work... NO BUENO!

Check ya later cool cats!

  2. Glad you had a successful 4th! Don't worry about the naysayers, especially when it's something like that where they're not on you trying to change your mind. I do wonder if your friend is obese... once he sees the success you'll have, he might change his mind about WLS.

    1. He's not obese... a tad overweight but not obese. He's an older gentleman as well. He's a sweetheart and he will definitely be there for me. I think he just doesn't understand it.

  3. Torani sugar free syrup

What is the purpose of using this syrup? And how many calories does it have?

    1. It doesn't have any calories! And obviously it's sugar free! It's the same kind of syrups they use at coffee houses to flavor coffee. Go check out The World According To Eggface... she uses it in ALOT of her recipes. I just put a bit in my coffee and it was delicious! :)

    1. I feel ya...I think because it's just sooo monumental in your life..

It almost feels like they are disappointed in you...which is worse than a stick in the eye. And YOU know the facts... so you know how wonderful it is so it hurts like mad when others don't see it.
